Built environment

China Southern Airline’s built environment includes office buildings, aircraft hangars, and airport terminals.  Aircraft is discussed in the Transportation section of this Plan.

Inconsistent mobility friendly facilities for individuals with mobility impairments – to include navigation and toilet facilities.

Poor airport signage to facilitate navigation for individuals with impairments.  

Additional airport features to support specific disabilities / such as visual and hearing impairments.

Customers

Identify the Airport Accessibility Plan for all stations in Canada serviced by China Southern Airlines and review for timeline and date of improvements. Make suggestions on how China Southern Airlines will support the Airport Accessibility Plan – Provide a customer communication on an annual basis how China Southern is improving its accessibility.

Identify at the airports in Canada, the service animal relief areas and communicate those to customer with service dogs.

Identify engagement opportunities that airport authorities have scheduled to partner with that include local disability organization in Canada to promote a barrier free environment.

Employees

Onboarding of new employee to include a section on barrier free options in the workplace.  This includes identification of accessibility devices, signage and or tools to promote independence.   

Short Term – Customers

Station managers in all stations serviced by China Southern Airlines in Canada and China will go through a training session on how to identify and report areas within their stations that could result in improved accessibility.

Long Term - Customers

Update duties and responsibilities of Canadian stations managers role to include annual performance review to include how they improved year over year accessibility for employees and or customers within their station.

Conduct annual audits of owned and leased buildings for compliance to local regulatory laws that include accessibility. Create an annual report on finding from the audit and report to senior management.

Create an employee task force project to identify the barriers within the airport they are employed.
