1. All passengers should sit in the seat specified on their boarding pass. The seat number is indicated on the ledge of the overhead compartment. Our crew will be at the boarding gate and in the passenger cabin to help you to your seat.
2. Passengers suffering from airsickness can do something to distract themselves such as reading, chatting, or listening to music. Having a sense of space orientation is also very important when suffering from airsickness. Passengers should therefore look at the clouds, mountains, and rivers found at a distance rather than just looking at the clouds nearby to get rid of their airsickness. Sickness bags are provided in the seat pocket in front of you if you feel sick.
3. During a long flight, passengers may get swollen feet due to slow blood circulation in the veins in their legs if they stay still in a certain position. Though rare, some people may get thrombosis due to blood clots in the lower body. We therefore suggest that passengers do some stretches, massage themselves regularly, or walk around the cabin. An ample amount of foot repair cream and putting on aircraft socks or slippers can also be used to prevent your feet from feeling uncomfortable. Flexible stockings can protect passengers who are elderly, pregnant, or have recently undergone an operation.
4. Keep your safe belt fastened when the plane is taking off and landing. If you feel pressure in your ears, please swallow or chew some gum to relieve minor aches caused by pressure in the eardrum.
5. Please take good care of your valuables. Please also remove your wallet and other valuables and make sure that your mobile phone is turned off before a flight attendant hangs up your coat in one of the cloakrooms in our first class and business class cabins.
6. Please take care of your children. Keep them in sight at all times so that you can take them to their seat and fasten their seatbelt immediately in case of sudden turbulence.
7. During a long flight, please do not sleep on the floor to avoid injuries caused by sudden bumpiness. There is also more bacteria on the aircraft's cold, hard floor which may damage your skin, kidneys, or bones.
8. If you feel the air is getting stuffy, please open the vents overhead by turning them clockwise.
9. There are call buttons on the top of seat, overhead, and on the personal control unit (PCU). Passengers can call the cabin crew if needed by pressing the button for immediate service. Above or beside the seat there is a reading light which you can use at your convenience when we dim the cabin lights at take-off, landing, or during nighttime flying.
10. On long-haul international fights, two or three meals are provided. One meal or snacks are provided on medium or short-haul international flights and all domestic flights. A flight attendant will announce when meals will be served when the aircraft has leveled off. If you have any special needs, please contact one of our flight attendants. There are also free soft beverages, alcoholic drinks, and refreshments served during our flights. All cutlery (except for plastic cups, knives, forks, and spoons) will be collected by flight attendants after meal services to be reused after being sanitized. We also provide late night snacks between the two meals on long-haul international flights, and passengers are free to enjoy these at any time. In first class and business class cabins there are self-service bars which provide fresh fruit, chocolate, snacks, and beverages.
11. We provide internationally renowned toiletries in the washrooms in our first class and business class cabins, and well-known Chinese toiletries in the washrooms in our premium economy class and economy class cabins. These toiletries are only provided for passengers to use during flights. Each washroom is equipped with a sink, toilet-flushing button, and a trash can for passengers' convenience.
12. Slippers are provided for passengers in first class, business class and premium economy class cabins on long-haul international flights as well as for passengers in first class and business class cabins on domestic routes. Pajamas are available for passengers in the first class cabin on long-haul international flights. Internationally renowned wash bags are offered to passengers in first class and business class cabins on long-haul international flights, while well-known Chinese wash bags are provided for passengers in premium economy class and economy class cabins on long-haul international flights.
13. If you are taking a domestic stopover flight, please pay attention to any announcements made during stopovers. If you want to leave the plane to take a rest, you should take your small valuables with you and remove any items you may require from the seat pocket in front of you. Any other items can be left on the plane. If you want to wait on the plane, you should take good care of your valuables. The washrooms are still available during stopovers.
14. If you are taking an international stopover flight, please take all of your belongings with you when you get off the plane and be ready to undergo a customs check. Any items left on the plane will be handled by customs officers.
15. Before arriving at your destination, a flight attendant will announce the local weather conditions. Please change your clothes accordingly.
16. If you are taking an international flight, please make sure you have completed and signed the customs declaration form and entry card before landing. You need to hand these to customs officers and border personnel. Please contact a flight attendant if you need help in filling out the above-mentioned forms.
17. Place the quilt, blanket, pillow, and any other articles on your seat before you get off the plane so that we can collect them for sanitization before they are used again by other passengers.
18. Make sure you take all of your personal belongings with you when disembarking.
