Nanning

Nanning is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in southwestern Guangxi, adjacent to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It is also the home of red beans, a historic border city with a rich cultural heritage, and known-as Yongzhou in ancient times。


						
							

The annual average temperature is approximately 22 ℃. In winter, the minimum temperature occurs in January, the average temperature is approximately 13 ℃, and the average minimum temperature is approximately 10 ℃, not cold; in summer, the maximum temperature occurs in July and August, the average temperature is approximately 29 ℃, and the average maximum temperature is approximately 33 ℃, not very hot. Nanning is located in a small basin surrounded by mountains in southern Guangxi, south of the Tropic of Cancer. The city has humid subtropical monsoon climate, plenty of sunshine, rainfall, less frost and no snow, warm climate, long winter and short summer.


						
							
  • 1. Zuojiang Shi Jing Lin
    Zuojiang Shi Jing Lin is located 5.5 km south to Chongzuo County, and covers an area of 1,500 mu. Here, you can find storm peaks, lakes, winding paths, trees, vines, Qionghua, and grass, which are subtly combined to form marvelous spectacle. It is characterized by Feng Qiao, Feng show, secluded caves, steeps, strange stores, water, and greenness everywhere.
  • 2. Kunlun Pass
    Kunlun Pass is located 59 kilometers northeast of Nanning, 30.5 km southwest of Binyang County, and at the junction of Binyang and Yongning counties. Legend has it that Qin dynasty commandant Tu Sui established the pass after the conquest of Lingnan. In the 11th year of Tang Yuanhe (AD 816), it was constructed to be "Nanxiong Pass" and renamed into "Kunlun Pass" in the Song Dynasty. The Pass gate is engraved with big characters of "Kunlun Pass". In the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), Nanliu Road made a detour at the foot of the mountain. Since then, Kunlun Pass became an important pass of the Guangxi- Vietnam international line. It controls Binyong highway and is an unchallenged position, thereby hotly contested since ancient times.

						
							
  • Bus
    Nanning City now has existing six bus companies: Nanning Public Transport Co., Ltd., Nanning Baima Public Transport Co., Ltd., Nanning Chengyunxin Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., Nanning Medium Bus Co., Ltd., Guangxi Yunde Group Yongning Bus Co., Ltd., Guangxi Large Bus Co., Ltd., with 143 bus lines and nearly 1,000 buses.
  • Taxi
    Nanning City has taxi companies including Haibo, Kangfu, Sanyun, Hongmumian, Beifang, Zhonglu, Jiuzhou, Yinjian, Antu, with taxi stations in main streets, and complement hotline prominently printed on the taxies.
  • Metro
    At present, Nanning rail transit project has been approved by the State, and is under intense construction. Metro Line 1 (Luowen - Railway East Station) covers a total length of 27km and a total of 21 stations, including: underground line of 15km, overhead lines of 12km, 17 underground stations and 4 ground stations. The construction started in 2009 and is expected to be opened to traffic in 2013.

						
							

Nanning Wuwei International Airport is located Wuxu Town, Jiangnan District, south of Nanning. It is 31 km from the city, and operates direct flights to major china cities, Hong Kong, Hanoi, Bangkok and other foreign cities. The airport has special buses between the downtown and the airport to pick up passengers, the buses schedule depends on the specific flights, from 5:30 am to the last flight for a fare of 15 Yuan/person. The buses will stop for the passenger to get off midway, but will not pick up new passenger. The downtown departure station is at Nanning civil aviation ticket office (near Nanning Railway Station), from 5:30 to 19:00 and directly to the airport; in addition, many hotels offer shuttle service. Tourists can also take bus No. 301 for roundtrip between the airport and the downtown for a fare of 3 Yuan/person. If you take a taxi to the airport from the downtown, you may bargain with the driver, the usual price is approximately 70 Yuan, and 90 Yuan if taking the highway, and it takes about 40 minutes to arrive at the airport.
