Bicycles

1. Bicycles can only be carried as checked luggage in the cargo transport sections. The weight and quantity of bicycles can be counted as part of a passenger’s luggage allowance.

2. China Southern Airlines only accepts non-electric bicycles. Air must be deflated from the tires before they are checked in.

(1) The handlebars of non-folding bicycles must be rotated 90 degrees and firmly secured. The pedals and wheels must also be removed and secured firmly to the body of the bicycle.

(2) Folding bicycles must be folded up and secured.
-
3. The total linear dimensions of a bicycle must not exceed 158cm. Bicycles transported as checked luggage are covered under the same carrier liability regulations as general luggage.
Surfing and windsurfing Equipment (e.g. Surfboards)

Charges on domestic flights:

1. Charges for surfboards with perimeters of no more than 227 cm (109 inches) should be calculated based on the fees for 5 kg of excess baggage.Charges for surfboards with perimeters exceeding 227 cm (109 inches) should be calculated based on the fees for 8 kg of excess baggage.

2. The above charge standard applies to each passenger with only one surfboard (or windsurfing); if one passenger carries more than one surfboard (or windsurfing), the overweight charge shall be subject to the general charge standards for excess baggage.

Charges on international flights:

1. Such items should not be included in the traveler's free baggage allowance.

2. Charges for surfboards with perimeters of no more than 300 cm (118 inches) should be calculated on the basis of excess baggage fees (charging standard for general overweight baggage).
Golf Equipment (e.g. a set of golf clubs)
Golf equipment: a golf bag (including golf balls and golf clubs) and a pair of golf shoes.
A set of golf clubs should include a maximum of 14 golf clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of golf shoes.

Charges on domestic flights:

1. Charges are made based on the fees for 6 kg of excess baggage.Charges may only be made if the above items are not included in the free baggage allowance for the cabin class paid for by the traveler.

2. If the golf equipment is included in the free baggage allowance, the overweight baggage charge shall be subject to the above-mentioned special charge standards or the general charge standards for excess baggage, whichever is less.

3. If the golf equipment is not included in the free baggage allowance and the overweight baggage exceeds 15 kg, the overweight baggage charge shall be subject to the general charge standards for excess baggage, i.e. the initial 15 kg overweight is charged by special charge standards for 6 kg overweight; every kilogram in excess of the initial 15 kg shall be charged by the general charge standards for excess baggage.

4. Each passenger may only carry one set of golf clubs at this discounted rate.

Charges on international flights:

1. Each adult traveler may transport one set of golf equipment free of charge.The total weight of the equipment must not exceed 23 kg. The linear dimensions must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches).

2. Any weight exceeding the free baggage allowance should be charged in the same way as general excess baggage.
Fishing Equipment
Fishing equipment:A tackle box, a creel (beam creel), a pair of fishing shoes, two fishing rods and a dip net.

Charges on domestic flights:

1. Charges are made based on the fees for 4 kg of excess baggage.Charges may only be made if the above items are not included in the free baggage allowance for the cabin class paid for by the traveler.

2. If the fishing equipment is included in the free baggage allowance, the overweight charge shall be subject to the above-mentioned special charge standards or the general charge standards for excess baggage, whichever is less.

3. The charges for fishing equipment over 15 kg shall be subject to the general charge standards for excess baggage.

4. To apply this standard, each passenger is limited to one set of fishing tackle.

Charges on international flights:

1. Each of the above-mentioned items of fishing equipment should be included in the free baggage allowance as an item of baggage with a size of 158 cm (62 inches).

2. Any excess weight should be charged in the same way as general excess baggage.
Ski Gear
Ski gear includes a pair of skis, two ski poles and/or a pair of ski boots;

Charges on domestic flights:

1. The special charges for each set of ski gear equal those for three kilograms of excess luggage;

2. If the ski gear is not included in the free luggage allowance, the above standard shall apply. If the ski gear is included in the free luggage allowance and is overweight, it will be charged according to the above special rates or the rates for general excess luggage (the lower rates shall apply);

3. For each passenger, only one set of ski gear will be charged according to this standard. Each kilogram of excess ski gear will be charged according to the rates for general excess luggage.

Charges on international flights:

1. Each passenger can have one set of ski gear transported as checked luggage for free;

2. The total weight of ski gear shall not exceed 23 kilograms and the total linear dimensions shall be no greater than 203 centimeters (80 inches);

3. The oversize ski gear will be charged according to the rates for general excess luggage.
